iS SaNTa aN iNtERnAtiONAL TrAvELeR?????

Christmas is almost here and yet we are still both sick. We didn't go anywhere today and tried to get better at home. Emili asked me a question today that I was happy to answer. She said "mom, does Santa go all the way around the world to everyone's house?" I had to explain that different cultures have different beliefs and Santa only goes to the houses of "Believers".

So on that note. In Mexico~ there is something called Las Posadas.

Please read the link. From Dec to Jan it is pretty much a party wherever you go in Mexico. The Three Kings come to Mexico, in the leiu of Santa. They come on the 6th of January and bring the children their gifts. There is also a traditional "kringle kind of thing called "Rosca de Los Reyes" or Three Kings Bread. Every year I buy one of these breads and enjoy it with Emili. She likes the hidden plastic babies that are hidden in the decorative bread. I will take a picture of my "rosca" this year. I think that it might be hard to find Rosca... Living in Lomira, but I will do my best.

Someone is very very excited that Santa comes tomorrow night! Auntie is coming home on Christmas morning to celebrate Christmas with us.

Emili gave me her horrible cold for my 28th birthday. I was sick on my birthday and still am. I woke up on the 19th with the starting of a cold and by the end of the day I felt like death warmed over. I spent my birthday working and after work my friend took me out to eat. My friend Sanjuana, Emili and her dog Zoey were out until late. We went to PetSmart in Fon du Lac (which is one of Emili's favorite places) and watched Zoey

in her pet classes. After the classes we dropped Zoey off at the salon for a full make over. Emili, Sanjuana and I went out to eat at a great Mexican restaurant in Fon du Lac. Then I got a call from my twin sister Megan who said that she felt the same way. She said the same words "I feel like my face is going to explode!"

So today is Saturday and I am still sick! Megan is too. We were supposed to have a Christmas get together tonight here, but we aren't feeling up to it. Hopefully I will feel better by Christmas.

Today was fun. We were gingerbread house making. The roof wouldn't stay on so we improvised. We just left it off and now it is the Ghetto Gingerbread House. Here are some pics of Emili and Auntie in the making.

I don't know what it is about winter. I feel like I need to hibernate. Actually, I love to hibernate! So I googled it.

Inactivity by an organism during the cold winter months. This was my fav definition. Yes, I am loving staying at home and sleeping. This time of the year is always busy, I am looking forward to my hibernation phase starting after the 1st of the new year ....lol. This is the only thing that I like about winter. It snowed again today!

It was a very wierd movie. Very gruesome. Don't watch this if you have weak stomach. Lots of murder. Some Spanish, which was ok for me. It had a peculiar ending ....



Today was busy too. I was up early and shopping and cooking. Emili has her friends over tonight. Lots of fun. No time to hibernate yet...

I was very proud of my little girl tonight. Emili sang at her Christmas concert. It was very nice to see how many parents and grandparents were at the concert! Grandma and Grandpa went with. I had a rough day today at work. So it was time to break out the Asti tonight. Great way to celebrate! lol

Estaba tan orgullosa de mi muchachita hoy en la noche. Emili canto en su concierto navideno. Me dio gusto ver tanta gente, padres y abuelos en el concierto! Los abuelitos de Emili fueron con nosotras. Tuve un dia pedsado en la chamba hoy. Entonces celebre brindando con mi vino favorito, Asti. Que padre celebrar asi no??? jejeje
