CoMiNg BacK~ ReGrEsaNdO

Well she's back. Emili 's Auntie came back on Thursday and was missed. The twin mother has returned. Emili was having a hard time without her for two weeks. I was told that I am not "cool" enough. I know exactly what Emili is talking about because I feel that same way about my Aunt Mary. When I was little I always awaited her arrival from Japan. She lived there and would come back every summer to spend some time with the family. I always waited for her to come home to tell me about something new and cool... and of course to bring something new and cool. I still remember all of the cool things she would bring us back. Life is funny sometimes. Most days I can't remember what I ate for lunch, but I can remember that I got a kind of candy tooth brush with candy tooth paste from her when I was about 11. I thought it was the coolest thing because I had never seen anything like it before.

So Friday night my Aunt Mary delivered again. Being the cool Aunt that she is... we had a pj party at my grandparents Farm in Neosho, WI. It was really a nice time to spend with my Grandparents and my "cool Aunt Mary". Even now I am almost 30 and she still takes time to spend with me. I don't think that Emili will be disappointed with her Auntie when she is 30 too. My Aunt is going to be my birthing coach again with this baby. She was with Emili too. It is nice to know that your Auntie is always going to be there.

I guess when you are a mother you just assume that your children love you unconditionally. I know that Emili loves me. It is just in a different-- Not cool "Auntie" way of loving. So I know that my mom understands too that it is just a different kind of bond.

We had a big weekend. We went to Discovery World in Milwaukee yesterday and then we went to the Mineshaft in Hartford for dinner and played in the game room. Today is a good day for "flopping" as we refer to it in my house.. Laying around. There wasn't much of that done today however though. I was going through baby clothes and putting things away and laundry and cleaning and Auntie and Emil decided to go for a bike ride. We went through the garage and winterized it too. Even the snow blower got started up!!! Yep a bike ride in good old Wisconsin October weather. Rainy and not even 50 degrees!!! Yikes. They came home chilled too the bone and soaking wet, but apparently it was worth it.

no Me QuEdA de OtRo~ HaY qUe EcharLe GaNaS veRdad?

Pues hace mucho tiempo que no he escrito nada. No se que pasa, ultimadamente me ha dado "flojertis". Quizas es mi embarazo, quizas es por trabajar tanto...quien sabe. No he querido escribir nada. Echale ganas.

HaPpy b-dAy to Emi J~~~ SaPo veRde a mi neNa

Emili turned 8. She did it. Overall she had a great birthday. We did 2 traditions that we always do (see last years post). We made treat bags for all of the kids in her class and I stopped in on my lunch hour to hand deliver a surprise and the treats. The traditional birthday song "Las Mananitas was also sung early around 6 am... We went out to eat.... Auntie spoiled her...She opened all of her cards and presents... smeared cake... laughed a lot. She had a wonderful day. A special thanks to everyone who took the time to make her day special.

I had some flashbacks of my pregnancy with Emili as well on her birthday. It was the hardest day of my life, but will always be remembered as one of the greatest. What a wonderful gift birthdays are for mothers.... they are a constant reminder of our struggles and our greatest achievement of all. So to all the mothers out there...KUDOS.. !!

AnoThEr yeAr~~

Well, the corn is high and it is time to get back to the grind. Emili started her first day of second grade on Tues. I guess when you are little you don't mind the corn getting high. In fact this little guy is loving it. Check out the corn cob in his mouth. Yesterday we went to Beaver Dam, WI to visit some of my old friends. My friend Lisa has been my friend for about 12 years now and we still find time between our schedules to see each other. Here is her little guy Marcos. What a cutie...

I am getting bigger and it is getting harder to get around. This is not the most flattering picture, but it is the only one I liked of me in my pj's. Tonight for example we Emili and Auntie and I decided to go shopping at the mall... all that walking around isn't really that fun anymore. Then we went to Wal-Mart to pick up some odds and ends. Auntie and Emili went off on their own way (with my purse and my cell and the cart).. So there the hunt began trying to find them. They were trying to find me and I them.... we finally found each other after about an hour at the service desk. I was standing in line ready to page them...

One of the things purchased was a hot pink guitar that Emili HAD to have for her 8th birthday which is on Friday, but Auntie always gives in before. Auntie wanted to have her picture taken "rockin' out". Here she is just having fun.

Here is a picture of Emili and Marcos, my friend Lisa's other little guy. They were having fun playing yesterday. Emili is adjusting well to second grade. She really likes her teacher and was excited. It is always hard for her to adjust the first week. By Friday night, she was exhausted when I got home from work and laid down at 5pm and didn't wake up until 7pm. She needed a power nap. Tomorrow starts another busy week!!! Hasta la proxima semana! Till next week !!!

ThE dAmN cOrN is HiGh

Some serious air hockey going on!!!

Nanz having a good time
This was taken the Sunday before, Emili and Nanz and her friend enjoying the trampoline at Nana's house. We got back too late last night for any trampoline action!

Yep, it is that time of year again. When I was a little child I always remembered that when the corn was getting high, that meant time for school to start again. So yep, it is high again and yet another school year is beginning. Summer is going by very fast. Before you know it I will be shoveling snow in -20 below weather again everyday. I love Wisconsin sometimes, but I sure wish summer would hang on a little longer.

With school starting that means that the Lomira Pool is also closing. It has only been open for 2 months, but we sure took advantage of it. Emili will be starting 2nd grade soon and is excited as I guess you can expect her to be for having to get back to the grind. Tomorrow is her last official trip with the summer program at her daycare and I think she is all field tripped out. She asked me if I could ask her teacher if she could stay back and just watch a movie or hang out....somebody has had a little too much summer.

This past week was fun. Emili got her annual eye exam and physical. She is in the 100 percentile for weight as well as height. The Dr. stated that she is in good health, and she is just a big girl. Considering that she is wearing a size 8 womens shoe and she is only 8 years old, ya I would say she is growing like a weed.

This past weekend was fun too. On Friday night we went out to eat at a Mexican Restaurant in Fondulac just us girls, Grandma, Auntie, Emili and I..just us girls......oh I guess it wasn't just girls... I forgot that Emili's little brother was along for the trip as well. It was a good time.

On Saturday, Emili went over to my Aunt Mary's house and spent the night there while I met up with my girlfriends in Milwaukee. We went to Mexican fiesta.. http://www.mexicanfiesta.org/ it was a fun time. Lots of great music and food. It was really good to see my girlfriends again, since it had been a while since we had all gotten together. It had been almost a year and in that time my 2 friends have had baby boys, who I didn't get pics of unfortunately.

Yesterday, Sunday, Emili and my cousin Nanna were dropped off at my place and we hung out for the day. Auntie Megan took them to the Lomira Pool for one last swim of the summer and I stayed back and recuperated from Mexican Fiesta. After that we went to a restaurant called the Mineshaft in Hartford, WI and had supper. Then it was off to the game room there where Nanna and Emili had a good time playing lots of games. Today it is back to the grind and letting Emili enjoy her last bit of freedom as the corn grows taller daily!! Damn Corn!

gOoD tiMeS~ goOd TiMeS

Well the last 2 weeks have been very fun. We are enjoying what is left of summer. A couple of announcements..... I am expecting a boy and Emili passed to level 3 at the Lomira Pool.

I went on 8/15 for an ultrasound. Emili and my sister and law went with me to St Agnes Hospital in Fondulac WI. We could see VERY distinctly that it is a boy! Emili is very excited to be a big sister to her baby brother and is helping me pick out names. I also got a great maternity pillow off of Amazon to help with the growing tummy and sleeping... I think Emili is enjoying it almost more than I am....Everything looks great and the baby is healthy. The baby is now 20 weeks and weighs almost a pound. I am halfway there. Time to start shopping for baby items.Emili and my new maternity pillow
Ultrasound room (trust me you don't want to see the pictures of my belly)....

Emili has also been taking swimming lesson for the last 2 weeks at the Lomira Pool. She has been getting much better with the lessons and has advanced from level 2 to level 3. That is part of the reason that I haven't blogged recently. She has been hanging out at the pool every night until after 7pm.

Last week Emili enjoyed a 4 day weekend with my parents in Goodman, WI for the town's 100 year anniversary. See this link for pictures of Emili having fun in Goodman WI. She is so lucky to have grandparents that take her to fun places. Speaking of grandparents, my grandmother Merc, recently had surgery on her eye and all turned out well. I am going to see her today and can't wait. I miss her. http://www.tyinguplooseends.blogspot.com/

Last night Emili and I were invited to my Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Eds house for a little family get together. I hadn't seen my some of my cousins or my Aunt Lynn in a long time, so it was really great to see them again. I can't believe how everyone has grown. One of my cousins that I used to babysit is now getting married next May. Here are some pictures of the fun that we had last night. Emili just loved all the attention and made herself at home...she wanted to stay overnight, but we ended up leaving close to midnight.. She loves to party! My Uncle Ed with my cousin Danielle. My Aunt Lynn.My cousin Ashley and Emili. My cousin Andrea and Emili.

Andrea and I.

Our hamster, Chubby is doing just fine and Emili is taking good care of it. She lets him out every night and Emili and Auntie are working on taming him. Every night Emili sits in the bathtub (fully clothed.) with a blanket over her and Chubby climbs all over her. She even has gloves on. Check out the picture of Auntie and Emili in the tub....Check out Emili and Chubby in the tub.

I hate to leave you with bad news, but this week was a hard week at my job. Over a hundred Quad Graphics administration employees lost their jobs and some of them were very close to me. Check out the article... .http://milwaukee.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/stories/2008/08/11/daily27.html

I will start off from this Friday. This was a very fun weekend. My mom came over Friday night and met the new member of our family. Chubby- Emili named him Chubby because he fits nice in our family because everyone is chubby, including him. He is a dwarf hamster, which just happened to escape on Friday night. Emili has a clear plastic hamster ball for him and somehow he managed to get the lid off and ran behind the fridge at our house and it was kind of hard to get him out. Auntie, Grandma, Emili and I caught him. It was a group effort. We caught him with a net (we were afraid he might bite us) he didn't know us that well yet and put him back in his cage. Here is a picture of Auntie and Emili after the catch! Grandma stayed and we had a movie night. after the escape, chubby in his cage

Saturday was fun too. We hung out at the Lomira Pool, which has become Auntie and Emili's hangout this summer and we swam, prego mama and all...all afternoon.

swollen feet

Today is Sunday and Auntie needed to get out of Lomira...even for a little while. We went to our Grandparents farm in Neosho, WI and visited them for a while. It was nice. Then we went to Lake La Belle in Oconomowoc, WI. It was a beautiful day with great scenery. We found some Camels, LLamas, Donkeys, Cows, Pigs, Dogs, Goats, Ducks...in no particular order. Great day we stuck around until the rain clouds rolled in...summer in Wisconsin doesn't last too long...so yoreat weekend for swimming. Check out the pictures. Hope you enjoy... WE DID!!!
