Fun day today. The girls all went home in the am and then Hope went with us to my grandparents farm. The girls had fun checking out the animals and seeing what they could get into. I had a nice visit with my family. We are both exhausted tonight and ready to start the week. Here is picture of Emili and Hope today having more fun.

We had a fun day today. It was nice. Emili's friends Hope and Sophie slept over last night for a sleep over. They were ready to go early am and were joined by their friend Lexie as well. She came over early and it was a fun play day. Big breakfast and then it was play and play some more until heading to Loose Ends Yarn Shop. We stopped at my mom's shop to visit and off we went to Beaver Dam to McDonald's and WalMart.

I called my friend Lisa when I got to Beaver Dam, since it has been a while since I have seen her. We met Lisa at the Dollar Tree, there we purchased toe socks for all the girls. We discovered that they couldn't play at McDonalds in the play land without socks on..so we decided to jazz it up a little bit and all of the girls got to pick out a pair of toe socks, so they could wear them with their sandals. Off to McDonald's for 2 hours of playing and then off to WalMart and I let all the girls pick out a little something. They each picked out a cute piece of jewelry.

After WalMart we decided to stop in by Emili's Grandparents. Grandpa got a fire started and they all had fun playing in their big back yard. Grandpa is the "master roaster", so he was roasting marsh mellows and hot dogs. The girls had a good time. My mom made a comment to me stating "you go get the girls, your the mom" and I said "Ya, but your the grandma" Then my mom said "I like being the grandma, you don't have to do anything"....One of Emili's friends then said "ya, that is cuz YOU ARE OLD"........... HAHAHAHAH. Here are some pictures of the girls having fun. After the grandparents, it was over to each of the girls houses to ask permission if each one could stay over again. Then it was time for a shower and bed time for everyone. It is now 945pm and only one of them is almost out....gonna be a fun night yet.

What a beautiful day outside today. It was a nice day to take a half a day. I went to Emili's school to pick her up at 3 and got out of work early at 1. After going grocery shopping and running errands, we came back home. Emili was happy to find her friends playing outside and they are sleeping over tonight Emili, Hope and Sophie and all on an air mattress in the living room (so much for the bunk beds, grandpa). Emili said that if just one of her friends were over then they would be sleeping in the bunk beds. After Carmel apples, it is the Barbie movie yet once again. Emili is really enjoying her new home and Lomira in general. We can't go anywhere, without Emili knowing someone. Our hang out spots are Dollar General, Piggly Wiggly and Quad, Susie's Home Cooking and it never fails that she shouts out someones name. Try explaining what piggly wiggly literally means translates into Spanish. I had one of my friends ask me one time what wiggly meant and why it was called Piggly Wiggly...Maybe that is why you only find Piggly Wiggly's in the smaller towns, because of the interracial diversities,...maybe no one can figure out what the heck it means!!! Its all Pick N Save in the big cities..hahaha. No wobbly hogs there..nope. Ok this is getting wierd, I am stopping now.

Barbie as The Island Princess Trailer

This is a preview of the movie

fULL mOON MaDNeSS..........

Today was busy. I don't know why all the WIERDO'S come out when there is a full moon...My Mother, who is a LPN, always used to say all the patients went wacko when there was a full moon. I now understand COMPLETELY...!!

http://skepdic.com/fullmoon.html

It took me all night to get over the day I had. Emili and I are watching the new Barbie Movie, for the third time tonight. Barbie, The Island Princess...SEE THE ABOVE VIDEO...I know that u r dying to check it out. Emili and Auntie are in her bed tonight reading Junie B....I went to Emili's school today on my lunch hour to purchase books from the book fair. Emili was happy to see me in the middle of the day and skipped recess to come with me to the book fair. Her schools library is really nice. They have a great computer lab as well. Have a crazy night under the full moon... I think it is time for a glass of wine.

Yet another day of bunk bed action...oh joy...Emili is enjoying her new beds with her friend Hope tonight. I put up some hot pink and purple curtains in her room and now she is ready. The were both on the top bunk the last time I checked. They are setting up a store (I am the sole customer). Grandpa came over and installed some boards underneath the bed, to make it more sturdy and they are ready to go. She has been in there since we came home and hasn't come out yet. I have to check out their store.

Due to high demand.... Here he is (if u look really, really close). He is a small white frog. All the gold fish have died, but Ribity is going strong.
Well, the bunk bed saga continues. Grandpa was over tonight putting up Emili's new bunk beds. She is already enjoying them. She gets top bunk.

Workin' hard...here is the little senorita enjoying a siesta!
Climbing aboard! She's got dibs on top bunk~

this weekend was nice. Not a lot going on. I went on friday to my friend Theresa's house in Waukesha to get my hair cut and colored. Her daughter does it for me and she does such a nice job. We saw her 7 month old (emili's future babysitting child). Here is a pic of her. Love her to death...so cute... Emili has it all figured out, by the time Lilly is 6, Emili will be old enough to babysit her. Emili loves to go to Theresa's house because she stuffs her full of treats and SPOILS her to death! We got back late Friday night and Sat. was a bunch of nothing. We stayed close to home. Yesterday was pretty much the same thing. We stayed home and prepared for the bunk beds which are coming today Monday! Emili is so excited because Grandpa found Bunk Beds for her and is coming over to set them up tonight!!! Stay tuned for the bunk bed saga...TO BE CONTINUED!

well, today I actually have something to write about..... Today was a normal day for us. Off to school and work. Not a whole lot different. . On our way to the farm to burn garbage, we were driving with the windows down and all of the sudden, on Emili's side a huge pheasant hit the car...ALMOST HIT EMILI AND WENT IN THE WINDOW...!! Emili and I were both freaked out.

Then we burned garbage and went to the farm and had a really nice chat with my grandparents. Merc and Pops.

Yep that is right. Two of our four fish have now bitten the big one...swam away to the porcelain god. I am glad I opted for the 26 cent fish. I woke up this am and one was floating in the coral and now when I came home from work one was floating at the top. I think the ammonia level might be off. When we went to petco the woman said the ammonia level was a little high, but nothing to worry about. Well now I think that maybe the level is too high. I will have to take the water back in for testing and add the appropriate chemicals.
Emili has been handling it really well. It was off to school and she only had a half a day today, so I got to spend time with her on my lunch break. That was nice. Hope (emili's friend) is over again tonight and they are playing again. Emili announced to me that Hope is able to stay till 8:30 tonight. Little does she know that she still has to do homework and Mom is going to have to send her home early tonight... Not looking forward to that. We will see how that goes. Hope you all enjoyed my earlier blog about the instant messaging acronyms... Maybe now you can decipher your kids text messaging. hahahah

Today was a typical busy Monday for me. Emili and I were off early and she went off 2 school and I off to work. Ribity (our frog) seems to be adjusting well to our new fish tank. He was kinda freaking it yesterday... we had to spend some quality time with him before leaving this am. I was kind of excited when my class after work was canceled today. I am happy it was because when I got my mom's house to pick up Emili Grandma was hurting. She did something 2 her back today. I cleaned out my car... Hallelujah... and we had to stop at my friend Fernie's house tonight so Emili could say hi to her friends and play for a couple of minutes. We are back at home now and it is off 2 bed early 4 us. Emili is going to read me a book. That is all 4 tonight.

tHe WeEkeNd

Well not a lot new this weekend. Emili and I had fun. Friday night we watch the dvd of my cousin James wedding in Canada. Emili said that James is no longer her "Monkey Boy". For anyone that knows my cousin James knows that he worked in Costa Rica with monkeys and Emili refers to him as Monkey Boy. It was a beautiful wedding and they looked really happy. Wish I could have been there!

Saturday I was going to get my oil changed, when Auntie and Scott came home from their vacation at Door County. We hung around here for a while and watched some video and pictures of their vacation. It looked like a lot of fun. Then we decieded to go fishing at the pond here in Lomira. It was a really nice day, a little cool though. Scott caught a couple of little guys and we ended up throughing them back. Turns out that Emili really likes to fish. Then we ordered Chinese and went over to my Moms house in Mayville. We had a nice visit and watched the pics and video of Door County again. When we came home we were able to turn on our fireplace for the first time and it was great! It looks really nice and really heats up our place quickly. We hit the hay early last night.

Today is Sunday and not a lot going on again. Emili and I went to Fond du Lac to get my oil changed in my car, then we went to Walmart to pick up some odds and ends. After that we took some water from our aquarium at home into Petco to get it tested. I was thinking that it was going to need some more chemicals, before we were able to buy fish. I didn't want to get Emili's hopes of buying fish up. Well, it turns out the water was just fine so we bought 4 goldfish and put in our little white frog (aka Ribity). Just going to enjoy the rest of the night here at home. Maybe enjoy some Margaritas and Enchiladas.

That is all 4 now. Buenas Noches!

ENGLISH VERSION

Well nothing new today. Same rutine as always. Emili went to daycare at Quad after school and I was working hard and hardly working...hahahah

Today (someone) is grounded again. I think it is because she didn't go to sleep early enough. She woke up in a bad mood and yikes...Well the point is that if she doesn't sleep enough, believe you me that you don't want to see her in the morning. Her uncle and his girlfriend were here last night until around 9, but she still didn't get all the sleep her little body needs. Since she has been little she has always wanted to stay up late and catch some action...she can stay up all night long..but NEVER wants to get up in the morning. Her bedtime tonight is at 8 and I am not reading a book to her. Emili's teacher sent home a pail today, where I can put the snacks in for all the kids in her class. Tomorrow is Emili's turn to take the pail full of something. She is going to take some strawberry bars ... it has to be something healthy (hey, at least it has fruit right)...hahahah

Today I decieded to write in Spanish for my Spanish speaking friends ( you know who you are) who also check out my blog. I hope to see you on my page soon!

hApPy bIrTHdaY to eMiLi

Today is Emili's Birthday. Seven years ago today, I gave birth to my little girl. Emili was up at 5:30 am today. When the sun rose, I put on her song and sang to her and she loved every minute of it. Then it was off to school 4 her today. I was up late last night getting Emili's snacks ready for school today. Each kid got a bag full of candy and a super ball.

I remember giving out birthday treats at my school when I was little and thinking that we (my sister and I) had the best treats in the world. For anyone that doesn't know my mother, she is a very creative person and always thinking of new things. Our b-day treats always consisted of cool little baggies stuffed full of candy and licorice sticks sticking out of the top of the bag. The kicker was the ribbons that we stuck around the bags and had to curl to make them look pretty. Emili was really excited because her bag had 2 licorice sticks in it and a very long curly ribbon! She thought she was really cool. I decided to keep Emili in the tradition of the candy bags. I thought I might through some raisins in there (just to make it healthy), but then I thought...nawww that isn't fun! Lets see what kind of night Emili has tonight. Will write more later. Don't forget to wish Emili a happy birthday. Her email is emili-cruz@hotmail.com.

Emili had a great birthday! We had a very nice night at home. I made a big meal and we had visitors. Sanjuana came over with 2 NEW webkins for Emili. She got a poodle and a cat. Alyssa and Clay stopped by and gave her a shooting star bear. It is a bear and you can go online and register the bear and get your own REAL star. Once u register, they send u a map of your very own star. How cool is that! Daddy called this morning to wish her a Happy Birthday and to tell her that he loves her. Her great grandmother wrote her an email too! She was very much loved on her special day. As for me...I am ready for bed...........

sLaCkInG BiG tiMe

Well, what can i say... i love 2 procrastinate. I am just one of those kinds of people. I always put things off to the last minute. Not a whole lot new. I was very busy yesterday and didn't have a lot of time to write. Emili went off to school in the am and Auntie and Scott left the house in the am for their vacation in Door County. Emili was picked up by Grandma at school yesterday and then over to Grandma's house for more fun! I got there around 7 because I had a class. We came home later after having a nice evening with Grandma. Emili got a new Junie B First Grader book, which Grandma read several chapters from. When we got home I had to read more.

Emili is grounded today due to late night reading I think (partly my fault). Junie B is a really good book, but I think someone needs to start to go to bed earlier. Emili was very cranky when she woke up this morning and didn't want to wear what Mommy had laid out. There was a little talking back on her part and some flying clothes across the room. That earned a NO TV and an 8 o'clock bedtime 4 tonight. I guess the 8 o'clock bedtime is a good thing because Emili has to get up very early 2morrow for her Birthday song.

For those of you that are not familiar with this song, please see the links below. Every year on Emili's birthday around 5 am when the sun comes up, I sing her something called "las mananitas". This is a traditional Mexican Birthday song that literally means "The Mornings". She absolutely loves when I sing this to her at 5 in the am, if u can believe that. I always play the kids version of the song from a famous Mexican clown named Cepillin. Check out the words and the video. My baby is turning 7 tomorrow!

Party, party party

Well, What can i say about this weekend. It was a blast. Emili celebrated her 7th Birthday at Chucky Cheese and it was party, party party all weekend. We had a great time. On Sat. Emili's friends came over and we all went to Chucky Cheese in Brookfield. Emili's 5 friends went. Hope, Lexie, Nadia, Valeria and Stephanie. Emili's Auntie and her boyfriend Scott and Emili's Daddy were there too. Fun was had by all. Emili's recieved lots of really nice presents and even got to dance with Chucky. After 5 hours at Chucky Chesse's mom decieded to call it quits.
We got home around 8 and then Emili played for the remainder of the night. I was too tired to blog.

Sunday was a very nice day too. Emili went with Auntie and Scott over to my dad's house in Lowell, WI. I stayed back and relaxed. Then I went with my mom and my stepdad to my grandparents and was joined by Emili and crew. We had a nice time and a party. Emili had two cakes and loved eating both of them! It was a great weekend had by all! Back 2 the grind today. More birthday fun on her birthday Wed the 12th!

ToO MuCh YoGa

Today was fun...i guess. I went to work and took Emili to the bus at Quad Care and off she went to school. I was very busy at work today! I guess everybody and their brothers teeth were rotting out today. So remember in an earlier blog when i said that Megan and I are alike. Well tonight we did it again. We went out to eat and Auntie dumped steak sauce on her hash browns! I have been doing that too. We both do that...weird. Then we went to Walmart Auntie drove over the entrance way (curb thing)... KABOOM went her car and she totally freaked out. I on the other hand was uncontrollably laughing because i have done the same thing, not once, but twice...scares the crap out of me!!!

Then we came home and Megan convinced me that we had to do stress relieving Yoga because, i was stressed out by a long day at work. So we made a deal. If I didn't like it in the first 5 minutes I could stop and she wouldn't bug me about it for the rest of the night. So Emili was on Auntie's Yoga mat and I think her bladder got a little too relaxed and amongst the giggling... the river flowed..right onto the mat. Too much Yoga 4 tonight. Tomorrow is the big Chucky Cheese Party for Emili in Brookfield. So far 4 of Emili's friends are going. Auntie, Daddy and Scott will also be there! Stayed tuned for Party Mania 2morrow.

tWo pigGieS & cRaZy HUGE uNdErWeAr

Ya I am feeling rather silly tonight. We (Megan and I) are at home having great discussions with Emili from about the past. The two little pigs were getting on my nerves, so I decided to blog. Crazy chicas!

Emili wanted to hear stories about Auntie and Mama about growing up and Auntie had a memorable story. Since the Lomira pool was the hang out spot this summer for Auntie and Emili. Auntie had to share the pool story. Auntie told Emili about the time that she arrived at the famous Mayville Pool with all of her friends. And that is when tradegy flopped onto the sand.... Auntie went to extend her towel out so she could lay down and a GINORMOUS pair of Grandma's unmentionables flew onto the sand in front of all her friends. Auntie quickly scooped up the enormous underwear and shoved it in her bag. It was a mortifying experience for any ten year old (according to Megan). In this household we have an abundant supply of dryer sheets thanks to Aunties static cling tradegy. Auntie commonly refers to Mama's underwear as parachutes!!! So enough for the stories tonight.
Today was a fun day. Mama and Emili woke up to Emili's dad this morning who dropped in, late last night (early am) because he was close to the area and missed her. Emili was so happy 2 c her daddy. I couldn't help but to overlook the fact of how much Emili and her dad look alike!!! I took Emili to school and Daddy hung around our house and recuped from last night. Then, on my break, I came home and we went to Emili's school in Theresa. I wanted to let them know that Emili's Daddy was going to pick her up from school, instead of her usual bus routine.
When we got there, Emili was walking out of the office. She was outside playing at recess and got a bloody nose and was sent to the office, until the bleeding stopped. Emili's father and I had a great conversation with her first grade teacher and Daddy got a tour of the school. We even got to go out to recess with her for a little while. Then I went back to work and Daddy dropped me off, since we didn't have a lot of time left. When I got done with work, I found Megan and Miguel outside of Quad waiting for me... Where was Emili... playing with her friends. Daddy went back to Milwaukee since Emili was off playing and then she came home and the craziness started...speaking of craziness... Megan and Emili are in her bed comparing who has a bigger mustache! Crazy Piggies.... and GINORMOUS UNDERWEAR!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

2nd day of First Grade

Today was the second day of first grade. Nothing really new. Emili and I went to Quad at 730 am and she boarded the bus and off she went to her second day of school. She reported that all went well and she had a good day. There is an open house next Wed and I don't think that I will be able to go. It is from 4-5 pm. It is to meet and greet the teacher and to meet other parents of her classmates. Hopefully, Emili's dad will go because he is off on Wednesdays. We will see what will happen. Well, sorry for the boring entry today. Nothing new to report. Nothing funny happened today. I think Emili is a little tired tonight and so is Mama.

1st dAy oF 1st gRaDe 4 eMiLi

Today was the first day of 1st grade for Emili. Daddy called to wish Emili good luck and to let her know how proud we are of her. We arrived at 7:45 am to meet her teacher Mrs. Koepsell. Emili was greeted with a great big welcoming hug. She has a really nice classroom. Decorated with every type of learning tool imaginable on the walls. She has her own locker and desk. Emili was disappointed that she didn't bring her "High School Musical" posters to tape in her locker. We will have to deck out her locker next week! I kissed her goodbye and off I went. She didn't even shed a tear; mom on the other hand was a different story when she got to the car. Kids grow up really fast.

Emili got to ride the bus to Quad Care where she was dropped off and I got to visit her on my break. She only had a half of day of school and was done at 12:30 pm. When I asked her how her day was she said, "Mom, my first day was off the hook". This meaning the following....Origin of 'off the hook'?

I first heard "off the hook" meaning "totally wild" or "out of control (in a good way)" a few years ago. (Example: "We're hiring bellydancers and fire jugglers for the party - it's going to be off the hook.")
Like so much innovative American language, it seemed to arise from the African-American community. But it puzzled me, since "off the hook" already means something else, along the lines of "no longer responsible for" as in, "I did the dishes, so you're off the hook."

She also had a lot to say about seeing her friends from the neighborhood in the hallways.
When we got home from my job, Emili went out the play with Hope. Hope is now GROUNDED...so we aren't elaborating on that. She can't play outside for the next couple of days. The first week of school is always the hardest. Change is never easy. I am really happy that she had a great first day.

mOnDaY, MoNdAy...moNdAy

Busy Monday and I didn't even work. Went shopping to get things to make for dinner for my friends and Emili played outside in the am with Hope for a little while. I called my friends to see what time they were coming over and Veronica let me know that they couldn't come up today. It is getting really hard to see my friends from Milwaukee with our busy lives. I love them dearly, but we are all so busy now. I got done shopping and came home and started cooking. Hope came over and played with Emili. Laundry and picking up and then I talked with my friend Mauricio online for a little while.

I was on my way over to my moms house to type up the Goodman Chronicles, when my friend Jaime called me to let me know that he was in Lomira and stopping over for my famous Enchiladas. My mom did manage to snap a pic of Emili and Hope though.

So as soon as we got to my mom's, we turned around and came back home, to find them (Jaime and his son Jaime) sitting outside my house. Then it was time to catch up. For anyone that doesn't know my friend Jaime, back in the day we used to work together. I think I was 14 when I first met him. I remember it well, I worked a Mayville Family Restaurant, and I couldn't get in because the doors were locked. Then I remember Jaime opening the doors for me and mumbling something to me in Spanish. Thanks to him and all the non-English speaking kitchen staff, I am bilingual today. The margaritas were flowing...good times... The last time a saw Jaime's son he was 12 and a really cute chubby little boy. Now he is 20 and has grown into a handsome young man.
It was really nice to see old friends. Jaime's son Jaime.

After they left I went back to my moms to finish typing the "GOODMAN CHRONICLES" and then back home to clean up dinner and blog of course.. Tomorrow is the 1st day of 1st grade for Emili... stayed tuned for 1st day of school action.

pLaY dAy 4 eMiLi

Ya today was definitely uneventful. It was very busy for Emili. Hope (emili's friend) was over early am and they played outside and had lots of fun. Auntie woke up early today and then took Emili to the last day that the LOMIRA POOL was open. There were no breaks in celebration of the last day, so it was SWIM till ya drop. Meanwhile, I stayed back at home and cleaned and cleaned. Being laid up from my surgery for the last 2 weeks, has really put a damper on house chores.

Emili passed out the invites to her birthday party at Chucky Cheeze and all the kids were excited. She played some more after coming home from the pool. She came home for supper and went back out for more playing until it got dark.

I stayed home all day on a beautiful day and cleaned and organized...boring.... At least I got to talk to my good friend David from Chicago for a little while on MSN messenger. He will be coming up to visit in two weeks to see the new place. I haven't seen him in about 2 months so it will be nice for him to visit and see where I am originally from . Since he lives in Chicago he has only visited me in Milwaukee and also to my grandparents farm in Neosho, a couple of years ago. My girlfriends are all coming over for a labor day get together on Monday (hence the intense cleaning). It will be nice to blend a little of my old city past with a little Lomira action! Not a lot of news today. Will write more tomorrow...stayed tuned for Sunday action...
